CDL 101 - How to Avoid Florida CDL Points

If you have a CDL instead of, or in addition to, a regular driver's license, traffic violations can be much more serious than they are for regular drivers. Therefore, these citations must be taken seriously and handled more carefully than any ordinary traffic violation. If you are charged with any traffic violation, no matter how minor, simply paying the fine often isn't enough.

As of 2005, according to Florida law, the only way to avoid points being charged to your CDL is to fight the citation(s) you have been issued. Your CDL points alternatives

Instead of having points charged to your license, you can take your case to court and be given one of a few options.
